<image:title>Blog - Why “Just Let Me Know What You Need” Doesn’t Work - Most women mean well when they say it.</image:title>
<image:caption>“Just let me know what you need.” It sounds generous. Open. Supportive. But for many new mothers, especially daughters trying to find their footing, it doesn’t actually feel helpful. Because now the burden shifts to her. She has to figure out what she needs. She has to decide whether it’s okay to ask. She has to organize the help. And sometimes, she has to manage your feelings if she says no. That’s a lot for someone who’s exhausted, overwhelmed, recovering physically, emotionally stretched, or simply trying to adjust to becoming a mother. This is one of the biggest misunderstandings I see between mothers and daughters after a baby arrives: The grandmother thinks she’s offering support. The daughter experiences it as another thing to manage. Not because you did something wrong. But because helping is a skill. And most of us were never taught how to do it in this stage of life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Shift No One Prepares You For: Your Daughter Is Now The Mother - There’s a moment many grandmothers don’t expect. It’s not the first time you hold the baby. It’s not the first overnight visit. It’s the first time your daughter does something differently than you would—and you realize it’s no longer your call.</image:title>
<image:caption>That moment can feel surprisingly personal. Not because you think she’s incapable. Not because you want control. But because for years, your role was to step in, guide, fix, anticipate, and protect. Then suddenly, your daughter becomes the mother.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Fear of Overstepping — and What It’s Really About - If you’re about to become a grandmother, there’s a good chance you’ve had a version of this thought:</image:title>
<image:caption>“I want to be there for my daughter… I just don’t want to overstep.” It’s a quiet fear. But it’s a powerful one. And it shows up in ways you might not expect. You hold back from offering help. You second-guess what you say. You wait to be invited instead of reaching out. You’re trying to do the right thing. But sometimes, in trying not to overstep… you end up stepping back.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How I Became Nana - There was a lot of back and forth, some of it unpleasant. We ultimately figured it out, but it would have been nice to have some support/preparation before we were in the thick of it. And the idea for Becoming Nana was born.</image:title>
<image:caption>My goal is to create a supportive space to ask all those questions you want to ask, a space where you can find the resources you need, a space where you can practice conversations, a community that can help you become the Nana (or Grammy or Nonna or Gigi or whoever) you want to be. I’m looking forward to hearing your own stories, and walking with you on your journey.</image:caption>
